About

The first meeting of our Eco-Congregation Group took place in early 2008 to assess where the church stood as regards a green agenda. Our next move was to register with the organising body and look at improving in certain areas.

Those present at the meeting chose to move forward by looking at ways to develop the environmental stewardship of the church and hall, look at ways the children of the church could be involved and encourage each of us to develop a greener personal lifestyle. Our youngsters decided they would take a special interest in the Church garden and many have helped us during our clean up “Garden Parties”

One way we do excel at present is in recycling. Just to remind you. There are recycling points for paper, tins and plastics in the hall kitchen. Any glass left there is also recycled.

Old ink cartridges  can be sent away to Christian Aid in the envelopes provided in the corridor of the MacFarlane Hall. Old spectacles can be left here too or handed in to Mr.Storey (Optician) in the High Street.

We hope that the whole congregation will join us in looking after this wonderful world we have been given.  www.ecocongregation.org/scotland
